Would you leave everything behind and work abroad?

I couldn’t imagine how one can decide to work out of their birth country, living all alone and striving for a living there, although the pay and opportunities are really good.

First of all, you have no one there to help you if you are in trouble or if you need a company and second, you will be all alone out there. I mean, it comes back to being lonely, right?

A friend of mine, James (very good friend of mine), recently told me how his friend who went to Canada to work for a living was so lonely that she drinks liquor every night to pass her time as well as get herself to bed. She did that for 5 freaking years. That means she is so lonely for all those years and I wonder why she didn’t socialize with others. Perhaps she is not a social-able person? Anyway, she came back for good this year.

I find it is hard to live out there all alone. Whenever I have problems or sometime that I find myself needed some fresh air outside, my friends are just a call away. I couldn’t imagine myself living in another country and couldn’t do all that whenever I need my friends. It is truly a scary thought. I know that we can build friendship easily in another country however that is not like an overnight thingy, right? This goes the same to families.

Hmmm…what do you think?

So tell me, if you have an opportunity to work abroad (wherever it is), would you leave everything behind and start afresh somewhere, alone?
