Men feel threathened by women who has higher education or earn more

MSN conversation..

CY: Why are you so busy nowadays? Always Away status only.

Me: I am busy doing assignment mah…

CY: huh? Assignment? Why assignment?

Me: I am studying MBA now.

CY: aiya what for study so much? Later very hard to find a man to want you…

Me: Huh??? Why??? *in total confusion*

CY: which man wants to get someone who is higher education than him?

Me: Wtf!!!

CY: yeah what, your circle of men will be lesser as you need to find the same level of education to suit you and most men do not wish to get one that is higher…

Me: ….. *totally speechless*

I thought that in this era I might not find someone who will think that way anymore.

Me: Why would you think it is harder for me to find another person?

CY: well, if you have a bf now…what will he feel having a gf like you who has higher education and mingle around MBA people…How will he react or is he able to mingle around well with your friends or not..?

Me: Wtf!! If I have a bf, he should be proud of me! My God, I cannot imagine you still think it this way. If your gf / wife want to pursue her studies you better not stop her man…..

The conversation continues with me giving him my point of view and him sharing his …. Which in the end make me realised how men really couldn’t take the fact that their partner has higher education or earns more.

Come to think of it, only a high egoistic guy will think that way. One that is not will in fact feel proud for having a partner that has good education background or earn a lot.

I know for one thing, never ever try to stop your partner pursuing something they want in life. Yes, compromising is very important in big decision making like moving to another state or country or whatnots, but pursuing one’s dream or goal, is one thing that we should support. Why? We wouldn’t want them regretting it and one fine day blaming us for stopping them in the future right? That is where arguments became ugly.

Why does men feel threatened by women who has higher education or earn more than them?
